Fans know just who they want to play Christian Grey.

It seems like actors and actresses are linking themselves to the roles, whether they are trying to or not.

"True Blood" star Alexander Skarsgard recently appeared in a short advertisement for Calvin Klein's latest fragrance, "Encounter."

According to Business Insider, the ad was inflencued by "Fifty Shades of Grey."

"There's little doubt the new ad wasn't influenced by the latest phenomenon considering how close the short film attempts to mirror elements of James' novel. Even the ad's dark blue and grey tones bear a striking resemblance to the covers of the "50SoG" novels," Business Insider said.

There's even focus of Skarsgard riding up an elevator - an imperative place of interest for the book-to the home shrouded in glass windows.

The steamy "Fifty Shades" trilogy ("Fifty Shades of Grey," "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed") tells the story of 22-year-old recent college grad Anastasia Steele, who enters into a dominant/submissive sexual relationship with 27-year old sexy billionaire Christian Grey and both explore the world of BDSM (bondage, dominance, submission, masochism) while also trying to figure out their relationship. 

Gather Entertainment said that Skarsgard "oozed sex appeal" in the ad and that it would be hard to imagine other actors capable of smoldering the way he does.

When fans really started talking about "Fifty Shades of Grey," Skarsgard was one of the first to jump up for the part of Christian.

"Where do I sign," Skarsgard said, reported by Cafemom.com "He's got a sex chamber? My character [Eric Northman] has that on 'True Blood.' He's got a little dungeon. I was born to play that part."

However, at the HBO panel at Comic-Con 2012 San Diego, he revealed that he has not heard news on the film adaption of the steamy novel, nor has he been offered a casting part as Christian Grey.

"I haven't read the book and I haven't seen a script," said the "True Blood" actor, according to Deadline.

Skarsgard has some big competition though.

"Man of Steel" star Henry Cavill looked extremely sexy in a 2008 cologne commercial that features him sharply dressed as a Christian Grey-to-be about to board a helicopter emblazoned with a letter "G," according to Policy Mic. Cavill fans have also started a Pinterest page, "Henry Cavill (Christian Grey)," where they post pictures of Cavill resembling Grey's poses and demeanor.

Among fan favorites are "The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder and "White Collar" Matt Bomer.
