Who will play Christian Grey?
This is a big question that is on every readers' mind for the upcoming film adaption of "Fifty Shades of Grey."
The "Fifty Shades of Grey," written by bestselling author E.L. James, tells the story of 22-year-old recent college grad Anastasia Steele, who enters into a dominant/submissive sexual relationship with 27-year old sexy billionaire Christian Grey, and both explore Christian's world of BDSM (bondage, dominance, submission, masochism) while trying to understand their complicated relationship.
An unexpected contender, Shia LaBeouf, has made his way onto the list of stars to play the much coveted role.
LaBeouf, 26, the star of "Transformers," "Disturbia" has announced it will participate in Lars von Trier's upcoming film "Nymphomaniac," where he will reportedly shoot explicit sex scenes, "to his fans' delight and his girlfriend Karolyn Pho's heartbreak."
"The risky, but potentially rewarding, career move places LaBeouf as one of the strongest contenders yet vying for the coveted role of S&M magnate Christian Grey," according to Policy Mic.
"LaBeouf's surge in the Christian Grey cast online speculation might put all the previous rumors and controversies to rest. The Transformers star has both blockbuster and independent film credibility and appeal. Whoever ends up cast as Christian Grey must not eclipse the role with an off-screen larger-than-life persona. At the same time, producers can't risk working with a totally unknown newcomer who would have difficulty attracting the audience to the box office."
The "Indiana Jones" actor revealed details of the role in "Nymphomaniac" an interview with MTV, stating that there was "a disclaimer at the top of the script that basically says, we're doing [the sex] for real. And everything that is 'illegal' we'll shoot in blurred images. But other than that, everything is happening, according to News.com.au.
"It's going to be a wild movie," he said.
"Cosmopolis" and "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson, 26, recently commented about LaBeouf's recent admission that he's ready to do anything.
"[Shia would] do anything," Pattinson said when LaBeouf and Von Trier's collaboration was brought up in conversation during an interview with MTV News. "Oh he's doing it? [For me] it's like, who knows?" he admitted of not yet knowing what he's willing to do for future film roles.
"I love Lars. I think he's great. It's bold, it's brave. Shia did that [fully nude Sigur Rós] video already, he's already popped his cherry, but it's great," he said of their unique approach, before adding, slightly under his breath, that he might be too much of a wuss to take on a movie of that nature.
No word on who will be the director and screenwriter for the hotly anticipated film has been verified yet.
In recent news, it was reported that "The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder was traveling to Los Angeles to meet with "Fifty Shades" people next week.
He revealed this information to his fans at "The Vampire Diaries" Convention in New Jersey.
This news is very exciting for fans. However, producer Michael De Luca denied reports about this, and said they were just rumors.
"Haven't met, nothing scheduled, just dealing with prospective writers right now, thanks for being interested!" De Luca tweeted to a fan when asked about Somerhalder meeting with "people."
What do you "Fifty Shades" fans think about Shia LaBeouf? Can he be the sexy Christian Grey?
