Fans were not expecting this!
Twi-hard fans are looking forward to seeing the epic finale, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2," as how it plays out in the book. The movie might turn out to be about four hours if that happened, but there's a new twist.
According to Hollywood Life, the final third of the movie will not be one that's in the book. It will be a brand new sequence.
The website reported that the new sequence was "dreamed up by [author] Stephanie Meyer and longtime screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg one night over dinner" that is much different from the book version.
"When I first read the script, I got to that part and was like, 'What?'" Robert Pattinson told Entertainment Weekly. "And then I had to go back a page."
"It does it a serious justice," said Pattinson.
Kristen Stewart agreed. "It's clearly made by someone who really likes [the saga], who really cares," she said. "That's why [director] Bill Condon is perfect. Thank God for him."
In the bestselling novel, written by Meyers, the Denali, Egyptian, Irish, Amazon, Romanian Coven, and others come to defend the Cullens after Irina reported to the ruling vampire class known as the Volturi that the Cullens (Bella and Edward) created an immortal child. Due to her hatred with Bella (played by Stewart) because of Bella's relationship with the wolves as well as the unfulfilled revenge of her mate Laurent, she betrayed her sisters and her allies.
The movie also centers on Bella and her new transformation as a vampire, along with her and Edward's (played by Pattinson) half-vampire, half-human child, Renesmee (played by Mackenzie Foy). After the birth of Renesmee, the Cullens gather other vampire clans in order to protect the child from a false allegation that puts the family in front of the Volturi.
Entertainment Weekly will feature "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2" in their Fall Movie Preview issue, which came out on Friday. It will also feature interviews with the cast.
EW interviewed Meyer at Comic-Con San Diego 2012 last month about how she felt about the ending of the saga.
"I've been holding off the sadness, but it's starting to get to me," she said. "I miss everyone - Kristen, Taylor, and Rob. I'm used to seeing them every day."
Also in the EW issue, exclusive new photos of the "Twilight" cast are shown, specifically one of Bella and Renesmee.
"Breaking Dawn Part 2" is set to release in theaters Nov. 16, 2012.
