As more actors and actresses become linked to the roles of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, some take their time out to deny the rampant rumors.
Kim Cattrall recently denied the rumors that she will appear in the upcoming film adaption of "Fifty Shades of Grey."
According to Digital Spy, the "Sex and the City" actress has been rumored for the role of Elena.
"No one has told me about that, but I thoroughly enjoyed the book," she is quoted as saying in The Sun.
Cattrall elaborated on being a fan of the book, and added that it has had a positive effect on older women.
"It's fun - whatever turns you on. All these women of a certain age are finally having fun and what's wrong with that? We're all adults."
The Sun reported that Cattrall, who has been married three times, has previously admitted, "Most of my life hasn't been very fulfilling sexually. At one point in my mid-thirties I thought maybe I'm just not a very sexual woman.
"I play women who are sexually aware, but maybe I'm not going to be particularly active."
The steamy "Fifty Shades" trilogy, written by bestselling author E.L. James, tells the story of 22-year-old recent college grad Anastasia Steele, who enters into a dominant/submissive sexual relationship with 27-year old sexy billionaire Christian Grey, through an "agreement," and both explore the world of BDSM (bondage, dominance, submission, masochism).
According to "Fifty Shades of Grey" Wiki, Elena (whom Anastasia semi-jokingly dubs Mrs. Robinson) was one of Christian's mother's close married older friends, and coaxed him into an affair with her.
Elena was Christian's first sexual experience and, according to him, introduced him to the world of BDSM by making him her submissive, which sparked teenage arousal in him. The affair lasted until he was twenty-one when her husband found out, and although they are no longer sexual, they still remain close friends (until "Fifty Shades Freed").
Other stars who have been linked to play Mrs. Robinson (according to Pinterest) are "Snow White and the Huntsman" actress Charlize Theron, Nicolette Sheridan, Madonna, Michelle Pfeiffer, Cate Blanchett, Sharon Stone, and recently, Angelina Jolie.
Recently, Emma Watson denied rumors that she was in talks with producers to play the crucial role of Anastasia.
"I haven't read the book, I haven't a read a script, nothing," Watson told Entertainment Weekly.
Another star who also denied rumors was "True Blood" star Alexander Skarsgard. Although a fan favorite, the vampire actor said that he is not in the running to play the key role of Christian, and he hasn't read the book or the script.
