More leaked photos of the new Apple iPhone 5 have hit the Internet as customers prepare for the soon release of the hotly anticipated phone.
Forbes reported that a Japenese iPhone repair website called iLab show a very plausible view of the next iPhone 5. The photos were leaked Monday. Forbes explains:
"What gives these pictures a higher likelihood of authenticity than previous leaks and mockups is that, as a repair service provider, iLab has the connections to the full range of parts manufactures in the supply chain, and the motivation to be prepared for dealing with the inner working of the next model."
9to5mac reported that the new photos give a clear look at what a black, fully-assembled next-generation iPhone might look like when it ships to customers this fall.
Earlier in July, other leaked photos started circuling on the web.
According to Information Week, published photos by Taiwan-based blog Apple.pro show a device that is very similar to the iPhone 4 and 4S in terms of overall look and design. The front panel clearly shows that the device will have a larger display than the current iPhones.
Another notable design change in the new iPhone front panel shows the FaceTime camera has been moved to a centered position above the earpiece speaker. Also, according to the blog, the glass has the same width of the current iPhone 4S but the length of the new phone is larger.
It was recently confirmed that the new Apple phone will release Sept. 21, 2012.
iMore said that sources told them the new iPhone will debut at a special event on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, and will release the next Friday on the 21st. "This information comes from sources who have proven accurate in the past," the website said.
The iPad mini will announce at the same September 12 event, as well as the new iPad nano.
Suppliers are already selling cases for the hotly anticipated mobile device, according to reports.
According to Cydia Blog, "Shenzhen based iPhone parts supplier Tvc-mall.com has received a fresh inventory of iPhone 5 TPU Gel cases that offers some valuable clues about its design specifications. This iPhone 5 physical case aligns with the case drawings leaked from a Chinese case manufacturer and a hands-on video leaked exclusively by us - thinner and longer with smaller dock connector."
According to 9to5mac, Tvc-mall.com is selling the cases for just $1.58 each.
Chinese e-commerce website Alibaba.com, which is notorious for leaking devices prior to their reveal through its product pages, already has an entire page dedicated to iPhone 5 cases. These range from leather cases to heat setting cases in various colors, IBTimes reported.
TechCrunch exclusively confirmed that the usual 30-pin dock will be replaced with a 19-pin mini connector. A 4.08-inch display is also expected.
Reports say that the new iPhone 5 will have a bigger display, be thinner and lighter than the iPhone 4S, and will be able to run on 4G LTE technology. It was also said that it will feature a 19-pin mini connector and it will be equipped with a new technology called in-cell. This new in-cell technology integrates touch sensors into the LCD, making it unnecessary to have a separate touch-screen layer. This creates a thinner screen and improves the quality of displayed images. It will also feature tiny SIM cards called nano-SIMS.
