A lot of stars' names have been thrown out there for the role of Christian Grey in the upcoming film adaption, "Fifty Shades of Grey."
"Magic Mike" star Alex Pettyfer has been added to list of stars in earlier polls and reports. In "Magic Mike," he plays a stripper, Adam. Channing Tatum's character teaches the young performer how to make easy money, pick up women and party. With this releasing, his name has been added back onto the Christian list.
In June, the 22-year-old actor told Hollywood Life that he hasn't read the book. But fans know that he is not shy to get down and dirty with his recent acting performance.
Entertainment Weekly picked Pettyfer as their Christian Grey:
"Pettyfer is the perfect choice because he has that tall, tousle-haired physical presence, and with his pretty-yet-rugged features, he can pass as someone in his mid- to late twenties. Plus, Christian is supposed to be a strange mix of young and old - he might run a big corporation and speak like an 80-year-old man, but there's a youthful vulnerability that Anastasia sees in him. Pettyfer has played roles where his good looks were his primary attribute (Beastly) and also isn't afraid to show some skin (Magic Mike)."
"Fifty Shades of Grey," written by bestselling author E.L. James, tells the story of 22-year-old recent college grad Anastasia Steele, who enters into a dominant/submissive sexual relationship with 27-year old sexy billionaire Christian Grey, and both explore Christian's world of BDSM (bondage, dominance, submission, masochism).
Which other new stars have been added to the list?
Recently, "Star Trek" Chris Pine confessed to Jay Leno on the Tonight Show that he was "not doing it," referring to the key role of Christian. Though, according to Policy Mic, the 31-year-old actor hinted that he may very well be considering the role, because he went on to say that he would go nude in a film "if it was pivotal for the art. I'd get my acting coach and we'd work it out."
"Step Up Revolution" star Ryan Guzman recently hinted that he would play the sexy Christian Grey, whom every woman wants right now.
In an exclusive interview with The Daily Fig, the 25-year-old actor said that he would choose to play Christian Grey if he could play any character from a book.
"I know it's a little risqué, but I'm starting to get into Fifty Shades of Grey. I'm going to start reading that one next because I'm kinda thinking I might like to go out for this Christian Grey role," Guzman revealed.
"People wanna see this movie be made so I definitely want to attach my name to it if I can."
Actor Colin Egglesfield recently said that he could play the role of Christian.
"Why do you think I would be Christian? What are you saying? Are you saying I have a devious sexual side that I need some therapy to help treat?" Egglesfield laughed with Access Hollywood at the Monte Carlo Television Festival in Monaco on Friday.
"Is that what you're saying? Because I could do it," he added of the Christian Grey role. "I think I could do it."
Egglesfield said he hasn't read the book yet, but he will. "It's on my reading list," he added.
U.K. reality television star Mark Wright said in a recent interview with the Daily Star that he would love to play the role of Christian Grey and that it would help him conquer Hollywood.
"I'd love to play Christian, that would be such a great part for me.
"Everybody is loving that book right now," the former 25-year-old "I'm A Celebrity" contestant said.
Fans also hinted at "The Dark Knight Rises" star Christian Bale, but the actor has not yet comment on anything of the sort. One BooksnReview commenter said, "Christian Bale! I kept picturing him as Grey."
