The latest season of the BBC series "Doctor Who" may have Peter Capaldi taking the mantle of the Time Lord. But for the audio book inspired by the intergalactic saga coming out, another doctor, a familiar face in fact, will take over once more.

David Tenant, also known as the 10th Doctor, is lending his voice to "Doctor Who - The Tenth Doctor Adventures" along with Catherine Tate, who starred in the series as the Time Lord's companion Donna Noble. The audio book has three parts, each sending the duo in crazy locales and fun adventures.

Written by Matt Fitton, the first part is titled "Technophobia," as per Independent. Here, the doctor and his companion head to London set in a future not too far off but distant enough to render mankind almost unable to use everyday technology.

Jenna Colgan wrote the second adventure and it is titled "Time Reaver," which also happens to be the name of a mysterious device that houses an even more mysterious black market. The Time Lord and Donna are hurled in a mechanical planet called Calibris, where all things transportation and unfortunately, scoundrels abound.

Last but not the least, the tandem takes on another threat in "Death and the Queen." This James Goss-tale called "The Tenth Doctor Adventures" is set in a beautiful but unheard of land of Goritania. In the place, Donna finds "the man of her dreams" but the Doctor thinks they stumbled upon something else that's sinister.

"Doctor Who - The Tenth Doctor Adventures" will be published by Big Finish, whose executive producer Jason Haigh-Ellery is excited for the Tennant and Tate's return in the sprawling and massively followed universe. In a statement, he expressed his excitement from the day Tennant became the Time Lord in 2005 and his homecoming.

"It's the same but different - it's wonderful to have him back!" Haigh-Ellery said. Needless to say, Tennant is as excited as the publishing house about his comeback. "This is one of those dream projects where I've spent months pinching myself. I'm covered in bruises," the actor said.

"With two major international stars in place, and the legacy of this era of the TV show to live up to, we've worked our socks off to try and make some very special stories for this box set. Expect adventure, fun, scares... and some tears too," he said, previewing the audio book.

"Doctor Who - The Tenth Doctor Adventures" will be released in May 2016 -- exclusively on the Big Finish website. Each of the three titles are available to pre-order separately today. A bundle of all three titles is available for £25 on CD and £22 to download!

The tales will also be included in "Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor Adventures Volume 1 - Limited Edition set," which also includes tons of cool stuff such as never before seen artworks and photography, as well as articles and a one-hour documentary that features interviews with the cast and crew.

This set, which will only come in 5000 copies, is now up for pre-order for £30 on CD or £25 via download.
