There has not been any concrete news about the release of "Winds of Winter," and fans of George RR Martin rely on rumor mills for any ray of hope about the publication of the sixth volume in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series.
A new report that hints winter really is coming has just emerged and it came from a Polish website going by the name PIESN LODU I OGNIA. The publication claims that a translator was approached by Zysk publishing to translate "Winds of Winter" in Polish by December.
"Michał Jakuszewski confirmed that he was asked by the Zysk publishing house to save his time by the end of the year for translating the Winds of Winter, and although the translator seemed to be a bit skeptical about this news, it is undoubtedly a glimmer of hope for many of us," the site reports via Winter Is Coming.
If publishers are starting to find individuals to translate the upcoming book, it could be that the "Game of Thrones" book may be ready or at least close to being completed. After all, Martin aims for a 2016 release and he dropped commitments just to focus on finishing the highly-anticipated title.
The author, however, said that he will be the first person to announce when "Winds of Winter" is complete and he will do so with his blog Not A Blog. Unfortunately, there still no news from the bestselling novelist but still, rumors persist.
Last month, Ediciones Gigamesh editor Alejo Cuervo hinted on the possible date of the tome. He revealed in an interview with a radio station that the title "is expected next year," at least the version of it.
"We have been promised the manuscript in advance of the release in English which we will translate, there won't be a big difference," Cuervo said as quoted by Watchers on the Wall. When the radio host asked him for the second time if the book will really be out next year, he said he's "confident... but a meteor could fall."
"Winds of Winter" was supposed to be the source material for "Game of Thrones" season 6, which is currently shooting. Martin once said that he aims to publish the book before the season premieres in April next year. If the above claims are true, it won't be impossible to see Martin's most awaited title in the flesh.
