There's a good guy coming to "The Walking Dead 6", but the most feared villain in the story could also be making an appearance this season.
AMC's "The Walking Dead" is introducing the character Paul Monroe in the sixth season, to be played by English actor Tom Payne, The Hollywood Reporter notes.
Paul Monroe, also called Jesus, first appeared in issue 91 of the comics. Since then, he has been considered among the key characters of the story.
Jesus is among the favorite characters in the comic books, thanks to his good and thoughtful nature. Rational and logical, he would later be part of the people advising Rick in some heavy and risky decisions.
"When you're done, the world will be changed... renewed... better. I want to be a part of that. I want to do whatever I can to help make that a reality. You're a leader we can follow," Jesus told Rick in the 114th issue.
Tom Payne is known in the U.S. for his role in HBO's TV series "Luck". He also took part in the Britsh long-running TV series "Waterloo Road" in 2007.
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD
As all comic book readers would know, one surprising fact about this character is that he's gay, but no one seems to mind that because he's too busy being a wise man and savior to all.
When a fan asked comic book author Robert Kirkman during a Reddit Q&A session about the reason behind Paul Monroe's sexuality, he answered: "In my opinion there should be more awesome gay people in fiction because there are plenty of awesome gay people in real life.
He continued, "I want Jesus to be a character where his sexuality is as unimportant as Rick or other heterosexual characters... He's one of my current favorite characters."
Meanwhile, there are reports that the least favorite character of all time, also known as the most-feared villain Negan, is also coming to the TV series this season. Negan seems to be another character like The Governor, but comic book readers claim that he's multiple times more villanous.
In a Facebook post made by "The Spoiling Dead Fans", a page dedicated to providing up-to-date spoilers including filming location and inside information on "The Walking Dead", the production is casting for a character named Orin.
By the casting call description, Orin is "a physically imposing, charismatic, brutal, smart, ferocious, frightening, hilarious, inappropriate, oddly friendly, fun loving sociopath that is both a leader of men and a killer of men."
While the name Orin may have been used to deceive people, the description almost gives away that this character is the ferocious villain Negan. The character Orin is set to appear in the finale episode of the show. This means Negan might be one of the terrifying finale surprises.
"The Walking Dead" returns on October 11. Check out the trailer below.
