First Movie to Release This Year for Fallen Book Series

As "Fallen" fans try to catch up on the latest book in the series, they will be excited to see the upcoming movie that is to be released this year.

The "Fallen" movie, based on a book series by Lauren Kate, is in pre-production. Walt Disney Pictures optioned the rights for the four-part series in 2010, according to the "Fallen" books website.

Kate, the author of the supernatural fiction series, is involved in the development of the movie.

According to IMDb, Oren Aviv is the executive producer. He wrote and produced the movies National Treasure and National Treasure: Book of Secrets, both starring Nicholas Cage.

There are reports that Liam Hemsworth will star in the "Fallen" movie as Daniel Grigori, the fallen angel that 17-year-old Lucinda "Luce" Price falls in love with. They have spent lifetimes finding and losing one another due to good and evil forces that keep them apart.

""I like Ed Westwick for Cam. I like Emma Stone for Arriane...I like Lucy Hale. I think she has the same look as Luce, and I think she's a cool actress," Kate told GMA Network.

Other reports say that Daniel Grigori will be played by Alex Pettyfer, who played Kyle in the movie Beastly. Khleo Thomas, an actor who starred in the movie "Holes," might be playing Roland Sparks, who is a fallen angel who sides with Lucifer in the books. However, this is not confirmed.

The Fallen series is made of four books: "Fallen," "Torment," "Passion," and "Rapture." "Rapture" is the latest book that was released in June 12 of this year and is the epic finale of the series.

In 2010, "Fallen" hit the New York Times bestseller list and is still #3 on the bestselling Children series list.
