In Toy Story 3, when Andy left for college, he cast one final longing look to his toys and said, "Thanks guys."
The scene broke the hearts of many kids (and many toys) out there, who were probably thinking that the toy story has ended.
However, according to Disney's recent announcement, the story is far from over. In the D23 Expo, Disney revealed that "Toy Story 4" is coming, The Independent reports.
Here are three big things to expect in the upcoming movie:
1. The new "Toy Story" is a love story.
The romance between Woody and Bo Peep isn't a surprise, but the three previous movies only hinted at it. Director John Lasseter told Independent that the new story is something that's never been done in "Toy Story" before.
As unending franchises have the reputation of being a tool to make money, Lasseter denies doing so.
"At Pixar and at Disney we only do a sequel if we have come up with something that's as good or better than the original. That's our rule," he said. "We don't do things just to print money. It's about great stories, that's what we do."
2. The film will be a stand-alone story.
While "Toy Story 4" obviously sounds like a sequel, the film will not be part of the completed trilogy. The story is set in the same world featuring the familiar characters.
"This movie isn't part of the trilogy. It's a separate story and I don't know if will be continued," Jim Morris, Pixar studio president, told Disney Latino blog.
However, this statement was made last March. A lot of changes may have already been made to the story.
3. Fans might have already solved the puzzle.
There have been speculations that Andy's mother may play a role much bigger than just cleaning up toys and organizing yard sales. Fans believe that the girl who abandoned Jessie in a flashback in "Toy Story 2" grew up to be Andy's mom.
It explains why Andy's hat is not the same as Woody's and how Andy's fascination in cowboys started in the first place. However, as Morris said, the trilogy has been wrapped up and the theory may permanently become an unsolved mystery.
Meanwhile, as part of its plan to renovate theme parks, Disney is planning to build a Toy Story Land at the Hollywood Studios in Florida, BBC Newsbeat reports. The park features large objects that will make guests feel as though they are one of the toys in Andy's back garden.
