Kaling's first stop will be Boston, as listed on her official website The Concerns of Mindy Kaling. On Sept. 14, she will come by Brookline Booksmith for a book signing. The next day, she would be at BackBay Events Center for a book talk, which will be sponsored by Harvard Bookstore.
There are no available info for the first day affair but those who want to stop by BackBay Events Center on Sept. 15 will be able to secure tickets online from Event Brite starting Aug. 13. A ticket costs $42 and with it comes a signed and a specially designed and bound copy of "Why Not Me?"
The second stop would be in New York on Sept. 16 in Lexington Avenue. However, 92Y, which distributes the tickets (price starts from $90) for this event, are now sold out. Those interested to purchase a ticket will be automatically in the waiting list. If waiting is not an option, not to worry as she'll be back on September 28, this time at Barnes & Noble (Union Square).
On Sept. 17, she will be at Washington DC. She'll be at Glendale California on September 27 at The Alex Theatre and will be back on October 10 at the Barnes & Noble (The Grove).
"Why Not Me?" is a collection of sidesplitting essays that talk about Kaling's life as an adult - finding love at her work place, forming friendships in solitude, weight-loss attempts "without any behavior modification whatsoever," and most importantly, her confidence on staying in Hollywood despite everything people say about her.
The new book is a follow-up to her first bestselling memoir "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (and Other Concerns)," which was released in 2012. She is also the genius behind "Matt & Ben" (2004) and "Questions I Ask When I Want to Talk About Myself: 50 Topics to Share with Friends" (2013).
Apart from being a full-fledged writer, Kaling is also recognized in the craft that made her a sensation - acting, with multiple Emmy nominations recognizing her performance in the 2005 comedy hit series "The Office."
"Why Not Me?" is now up for pre-order and will release on Sept. 15.
