While Hollywood keeps on remaking comic books stories, the small screen is not missing out on the trendy pop culture.
These five iconic characters from comic books are reaching out to a new audience through TV shows:
Jay Garrick ("The Flash" Season 2)
The new suit of Barry Allen in the new season of "The Flash" is exciting fans, but a new character is making season 2 more special.
In the finale of the first season, one odd thing is noticeable: a helmet. While TV show fans may not recognize the helmet, comic book fans will see this as a sign that Jay Garrick is coming to the series.
According to Den of Geek, his appearance has been confirmed in the Comic-Con 2015.
Garrick is known as the first "The Flash" in 1940 and is known to have inspired the younger Flash. Since he exists on alternate universe Earth-Two, his appearance may be the sign of the existence of multiverses in the series.
The role is to be portrayed by actor Teddy Sears.
Supergirl ("Supergirl" Season 1)
Supergirl is the cousin of Superman, who arrives on Earth when she was already in her late teens. In the description by DC Comics, Supergirl comes with "all the attitude and rebellion."
Just like Superman, her powers include super strength, super speed, superhuman hearing, invulnerability, heat vision, X-ray vision, freezing breath and fast healing.
Beyond her costume, she is known as Kara Zor-El. According to Den of Geek, "Supergirl" is set to air on October 26 starring Melissa Benoist.
Lash ("Agents of SHIELD" Season 3)
During the Comic-Con 2015, executive producer Jeph Loeb announced the appearance of Lash in the third season, Entertainment Weekly reports.
According to report, Lash acts as a judge that decides the fate of newly transformed humans. He also has the power to convert, absorb and manipulate energy. Through this power, he can disintegrate human beings.
"Agents of SHIELD" return on Septermber 29.
Lucy Lane ("Supergirl" Season 1)
Lois Lane's sister may be coming to the "Supergirl" series, reports TV Line. According to the report, Lucy Lane is similar to her sister when it comes to confidence and beauty, but she is also strong and smart in her own way.
Furthermore, the report mentioned the possibility of a love triangle since Jimmy Olsen, Kara Zor-El's colleague who she may have a crush on, is Lucy Lane's ex-boyfriend.
Tigress ("Gotham" Season 2)
Tabitha Galavan, also known as Tigress, is the new addition to the character of "Gotham", TV Line reports.
The report describes Tigress as "sexy and violent" and the lead enforcer for her billionaire brother Theo. Jessica Lucas is portraying the role.
According to Den of Geek, "Gotham" Season 2 is coming on September 21.
