Ironically, tomorrow isn't promised for the heroes and villains teaming up to take down Vandal Savage in "Legends of Tomorrow." Executive Producer Phil Klemmer, who compared the show's spinoff to "Ocean's Eleven," revealed that the crew won't end the mission with all members intact.
"It's an anthology show," he revealed. "This is not designed to go forever. This season is meant to be standalone... I mean not as anthological as 'True Detective.' But not everybody will be continuing on this journey," he explained to Screen Rant.
"At a certain point, we will have darkness emerge, and characters will betray one another and be tempted by the dark side. And others might not make it along for the full trip. And others might be lost in weird time periods," Klemmer further teased.
Screen Rant says it would be the best approach for the show, to make it feel like its comic book origins. The site adds that assuming "Legends of Tomorrow" is renewed for more seasons, the idea of serializing it as an anthology will pay off.
The "Legends of Tomorrow" EP summarized the group's clampdown of Vandal Savage as a "suicide mission," adding that if it weren't for their mission to save the world, they won't go by a second without trying to shoot and kill each other.
In the same interview, executive producer Marc Guggenheim stated that each season of "Legends of Tomorrow" is "its own separate movie," which he described would have its own identity and a unique big story "that you could sort of subtitle."
Cinema Blend thinks that the fact "The Flash" is introducing multiverses to the fold and with time travel all over the place, it's easy to believe that the group won't always stick together. Also, it's not just because they go by different principles, but also because they could be lost in the fabric of time and space.
The new time-traveling posse in "Legends of Tomorrow" includes Brandon Routh as the Atom, Victor Garber as Professor Martin Stein (one-half of Firestorm), Caity Lotz as White Canary, Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold and Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave.
The new characters to see include Ciara Renee as Hawkgirl, Franz Drameh as Jay Jackson and Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter. Stephen Amell and Grant Gustin will fight alongside the team as Arrow and The Flash. "Legends of Tomorrow" is slated to premiere early next year.
"The Flash" and "Arrow" will set it up when they premiere on October 6 and October 7.
