In the past few days, the third-generation Moto G (2015) became the star of many leaks. In just one week, the purported new entry to Motorola's well-received mid-ranger lineup was listed in a Spanish online retailer, in an import-export site and was glimpsed as a dummy version, GSM Arena reports.
But with a smartphone expected to show up in the next days to come, there are more details and images to trickle. The newest leakster in the fold comes in the form of Switzerland-based online retailer called Digitec, which posted a rendering of the device and unveiled its specs in its listing.
Unfortunately, the page dedicated to the Moto G 2015 listing has already been taken down, but it has been up long enough for media outlets to scoop up the truckload of details about the upcoming handset.
According to Phone Arena, the Moto G was listed to come in a 5-inch Full HD display, a welcome upgrade to Moto G fans. That's a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and a decent 441ppi pixel density to go. It is reportedly getting an octa-core 1.7GHz CPU and Adreno 405 GPU.
The outlet is convinced that with such CPUs, the device may be packed with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 610 processor. Interestingly, fnac, the Spain-based retailer that also published a listing, noted that this processor unit is indeed the one that will power up the device.
Rumor mills appear to be right about the mid-range handset having only 8 GB of storage. Those who will need more space can use a memory card, fortunately, with room for up to 128 GB worth of files, games and apps, as the smartphone is pegged to come with a microSD card slot.
The third-generation Moto G, as stated by Digitec, will be packed with a 2070 mAh battery. Phone Arena says that this aspect is simply a placeholder, as this was the same unit that was equipped in its predecessor too. Same goes for its dimensions.
For those who may not know, there is a $245 price tag pegged to come along with all these specs and features. The amount, needless to say, may appear too high for the third generation mid-ranger, considering all its package. But not to fret, as the price is believed to take account of Swiss taxes.
The new Moto G is expected to release on July 28, along with purported new Moto X iterations.
