OnePlus has been particularly secretive when it comes to the design and appearance of the OnePlus 2 -- the exact reason why the tech world has zero idea on what the highly-anticipated flagship would look like.
But thanks to TENAA, followers may now get a glimpse of the upcoming smartphone.
Few days before its unveiling, the OnePlus 2 swung by the Chinese certification agency to get certified. Apparently, a shot of the device from its TENAA visit made rounds online, so now, users are at least given bits of details as to how the next flagship killer might be like.
As described by Engadget, the high-end handset will come with a fingerprint scanner, seen in all its glory in this image. The oval-shaped physical home button below the device's display is highlighted as well.
On the back is its presumed rear-facing camera laid out LG G4-style. Looking at it, the above-mentioned publication wagered that the OnePlus 2 got a laser-focus shooter, contrary to rumors which pegged a dual-camera set-up.
In addition, the placement of the camera seems low, looking at known OnePlus standards.
More about the OnePlus 2's appearance, Phone Arena shared a photo that allegedly proves that the flagship will be smaller than its predecessor, the OnePlus One, which measures 152.9 mm x 75.9 mm x 8.9 mm. The leak shows that the new entry in the series measures 148.6 mm x 71.7 mm.
Speaking of the camera, the OnePlus 2 went head-to-head with Apple's iPhone 6 and Samsung's Galaxy S6 for a rear shooter showdown. Camera samples from what are considered the most powerful flagships in the field were compared to that of the OnePlus offering.
OnePlus challenged the iPhone 6 for a night shooting while it squared off with the Samsung flagship (touted for having a powerful camera) with macro shots. While picking the winning device is open to debate, Android Headlines is convinced that the OnePlus 2 and Galaxy S6's comparison showed the strengths of the former's camera.
Considering speculations, the outlet cited that the device may have a 13-megapixel shooter on the back. Meanwhile, Phandroid thinks that the photos of the OnePlus 2 had lesser noise and more detail compared to the ones taken by the iPhone 6. The same can be said in its clash against the Galaxy S6.
OnePlus 2 will be released in a special Virtual Reality event to be held on July 27. Over the past weeks, it was teased to have 4 GB of RAM, Type C-USB port, a fingerprint scanner and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 v.21 processor.
