It still remains a mystery what "The Hobbit" star, Martin Freeman, will be up to in "Captain America: Civil War." But his latest hint reveals that on no occasion will superpowers be involved. He, on the other hand, hinted that using the law, its good side and its bad one, will be his character's specialty.

"We can say he works for the government; he works for the American government," Freeman said in an interview with the Italy-based publication BadTaste. "He works in conjunction with the superheroes, and certain agencies that help to tame the superheroes' power, I suppose," he added.

Although he admitted that his role "is not quite sure which side he's on," the nature of his work, as per Entertainment Weekly, gets him perfectly aligned with Iron Man's side of the argument rather than Captain America's in the massive clash, which, of course, is the focus on "Captain America: Civil War."

"It looks a little bit like he's playing one game when, actually, he's playing another. It's the kind of character I like because it's ambiguous and because you don't know whether he's, you know, good or bad," Freeman further details.

"I like that area, that isn't black or white, I like the grays. I think there's just more fun to be had in not playing one obvious line," the actor, who will be making his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with "Captain America: Civil War," went on to say.

Freeman's revelation puts more weight on the previous speculation that the "Sherlock" actor will be the big screen counterpart of Everett K. Ross. According to The Mary Sue, the character in question is a US government agent that knows everything about Wakanda.

As previously reported by Comicbook, the king of Wakanda himself, Black Panther, will be a neutral force. It is not impossible that an expert about everything in the said terrain will follow suit. Besides, Freeman's description on how his character has no side to choose lines up neatly too.

As per IGN, Freeman will be among the host of new characters joining the blockbuster in the making. It is in "Captain America: Civil War" that General Ross, to be played by William Hurt, will return. More importantly, this is where Tom Holland's Spider-Man will make his much-awaited debut in the MCU.

Meanwhile, whoever Freeman will play in "Captain America: Civil War," fans will have to wait until Iron Man and the Cap clashes in the silver screen on May 6, 2016 to know.
