Scott Fox, an online business man, has written a guide for online business self-starters. His book, "Click Millionaires," follows the lead of authors such as Tim Ferris, author of the bestselling book "4-Hour Work Week," who've shared their formula for online entrepreneurial success.
His book like other books that aim to teach the ins-and-outs of making money online, is intended to help unhappy employees transition to happiness and self-employment. Of course, with the over-arching goal of making enough money to sustain a dream lifestyle, Fox gives readers an overview of the different ways in which to make income online whether it be via blogging, podcasting, video production of freelancing.
In the intro to the book and to himself, Scott writes, "I grew up on the lower end of middle-class in dangerous and poor inner-city Detroit, but managed to make myself a millionaire. I worked my way up with no inside connections of family money, paying my own way through both the University of Michigan and Stanford Law School. I earned my first small fortune on Wall Street and retired for the first time when I was just 25. After I got bored scuba diving in the islands of the South Pacific, I worked my way to successes in Silicon Valley and then again in Hollywood, too, building expertise at starting highly profitable, cutting-edge Internet businesses."
Fox writes that the corner office is no longer the American dream but rather independent work that gives you the opportunity to work from anywhere in the world, be it your home, the beach or anywhere your heart desires.
One online reviewer from blogworld.com, who says she is normally skeptical about books that promise to teach you "how to quit your job and become an online millionaire," says that Fox's book is different and helpful. But she also writes that while giving a brief roundup for the different approaches one can take to launch an online business, "you're going to have to do more research to find out exactly how to optimize your time online."
In other words, this is a beginner's guide but one that could potentially propel a new career.
