The film "Hotel Transylvania" touched hearts with a story about a single vampire Dad raising his daughter in a hotel for monsters. Its sequel, "Hotel Transylvania 2," is reported to be coming this year, Huffington Post has learned.
CinemaBlend notes that fans can expect a lot of fun and scare as the "Drac pack" is back together with Mavis, Johhny and their new adorable little monster. Here are some must-know details from the highly anticipated sequel.
Trailer
On Thursday, Sony released an exciting sneak peek to the changes of our favorite monster-only hotel. Check out the trailer below.
Plot
As seen in the trailer, Mavis and Johnny now has a cute, adorable half-human, half-vampire child named Dennis. Also, his grandfather is not immune to his cuteness.
Posted in the Son's website, the synopsis reads: "Everything seems to be changing for the better at Hotel Transylvania... But behind closed coffins, Drac is worried that his adorable half-human, half-vampire grandson, Dennis, isn't showing signs of being a vampire."
While Mavis comes to visit her human in-laws with Johnny, a lot of scary things are going to happen at the hotel as Drac takes care of his grandson.
New Characters
Two new characters are coming to Hotel Transylvania 2. One is a little cute kid while the other is a scary old monster.
1. Little Dennis – Human or monster?
Dennis is just too cute to be a human but too adorable to be a monster. Raised in a monster-filled hotel along with other monsters, Dennis is yet to show his vampire side.
However, the more he tries to act like a scary monster, the more adorable he gets.
2. Vlad – Old and undeniably monstrous.
Even Drac himself stood frozen with everyone else when old Vlad comes in. Drac can be very mean and scary sometimes, but compared to his father, he is quite a nice vampire.
The old pureblood visits Hotel Transylvania and is not pleased upon discovering that it is now a human-friendly place rearing a half-human great-grandson.
The film is directed by Genndy Tartakovsky and written by Robert Smigel. The production crew includes producer Michelle Murdocca as well as executive producers Adam Sandler, Robert Smigel, Allen cover and Ben Waisbren.
The film stars Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James, Fran Drescher and Mel Brooks.
"Hotel Transylvania 2" is expected to hit theaters on September 25.
Small-screen Adaptation
The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Sony Pictures has teamed up with Canadian cartoon producer, Nelvana, to produce an animated TV series for "Hotel Transylvania."
Kristine Belson of Sony Pictures Animation President said in a statement, "Audiences have embraced the world and characters of Hotel Transylvania, so we are thrilled to be partnering with Nelvana to take them on new adventures."
Belson also adds that the series will center on the teenage years of Mavis and her friends, when her adorable son is not yet in the picture.
The TV series is expected to air sometime in 2017.
