Jimmy Fallon urges babies everywhere to give their dads a chance in his new book, "Your First Word Will Be Dada," out June 9. Fallon was inspired after his daughter Winnie spoke her first word, "mama." The TV show host wanted to teach his daughter and other children to say "dada," reports Entertainment Weekly.
The book is described as a great daddy tool for ensuring what the baby's first word should be. It says, "fathers wage a secret campaign to ensure their babies' first word is "Dada!" with the help of funny guy Mr. Fallon. It adds that Fallon's book "is a silly look at dads' campaigns to make their baby says "Dada" before they say "Mama" and even stars all kinds of fun animals. Fallon hosts NBC's "The Tonight Show." He inked the book deal with publisher Macmillan Books back in Ocober 2014, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"Your First Word Will Be Dada" is illustrated by artist Miguel Ordonez and shows different pairs of father-offspring animals. The simple storyline paired with catchy animal sounds and colorful illistrations make it perfect for read-alouds among young children. Incidentally, the book will be out more than a week before Father's Day.
In an interview with NPR, Fallon revealed that he really had no other intention in writing the book, other than making his daugther say "dada." "The thing about this book is there's no real point to it. It's a selfish thing," Fallon said. "I just want the baby's first word to be 'dada.' I don't care if she's smart. I have one agenda."
The 40-year-old comedian is not new in the world of publishing. In 2005, he published his first book, called "Snowball Fight," that shows kids how to have fun when school is out because of snow. His next two books, "Thank You Notes" and "Thank You Notes 2," talk about his experiences with some of the memorable skits he performed on TV. He is most known for his six-year stint as mainstay in the long-running comedy show, "Saturday Night Live". He also ventured into starring in movies such as "Taxi" and "Fever Pitch." He started hosting "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" in 2009, and in 2014, he started hosting "The Tonight Show." Fallon has two daughters with wife Nancy Juvonen.
Macmillan is set to publish the book released a trailer for the book last week through their Youtube channel.
