Rolling Stones Announce Book Celebrating 50th Anniversary: Where to Get It

To mark the 50th anniversary of the first time they took the stage, the Rolling Stones are publishing a book that documents the band's ascent to superstardom.

"The Rolling Stones: 50" debuts July 12, exactly half a century after the quintet's first gig, at London's Marquee Club.

Originals Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts along with 1975 addition Ron Wood appear in several previously unpublished photos alongside written accounts about the band's travels since the early 1960s.

Hyperion says the Stones have performed in front of more people than any band in history. It also says the band has had No. 1 singles in every country with a pop music chart.

"An anniversary such as this calls for an amazing book. Mick, Keith, Charlie and Ronnie have been hard at work -- approaching the book's content from every conceivable angle-to make it so," Hyperion's Ellen Archer said in a statement.
