Just a day after "Fifty Shades of Grey" author E.L. James announced the future release of the latest in the "Fifty Shades" saga, "Grey," the book already topped the Amazon and Barnes and Noble Pre-order lists, CBS reports. The upcoming book, to be released June 18, made use of the perspective of the BDSM-practicing millionaire Christian Grey.
Last Monday, James officially announced the release of the book, and shared the book's cover through her Instagram account. By mid-day Tuesday, the soon-to-be-released book is already a best-seller even before it hits the bookstores on the day of Grey's birthday.
According to The Bookseller, both the book's physical and digital formats already peaked in several book retailers' sales. The book is to be released by Arrow, under UK's Cornerstone division. Charlotte Bush, publicity and media relations director at Cornerstone says, "This is a logistical feat with supporting point of sale, for example dumpbins, also being printed. At present the entire publishing team is working to ensure customers are supplied efficiently."
The sales of the upcoming book is expected to perform as well as the previous "Fifty Shades" books, which sold more than 125 copies since its debut in 2011. The release of the book comes in the light of the second "Fifty Shades" movie, "Fifty Shades Darker," which will be out in theaters by 2017.
While the print version of Christian Grey is very much publicized these past few days, the character's onscreen version has been noticeably quiet on social media lately. E Online reports that actor Jamie Dornan, who plays Grey in the movie adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey," has been actively avoiding public attention. When editor Gold Derby asked, the 33-year-old actor said that the fame and the attention can get "intense" and "unhealthy" at times, saying that it "suddenly just feels.like it's real, that there are all these people who are interested in what you're doing."
However, Dornan was quick to add that his life has not changed much since "Fifty Shades," and that he and his wife Amelia still "live a pretty quiet life" despite the "interest" and "whispers" of the people around him. Though the actor has been nonchalant about his newfound fame, he is always thankful of the opportunities that come along his way. "Another thing that's been good is that I've been consistently working. When you're working, you're so in that-you're going to work, and you're coming home and being with family, then you're going back to work...you're in this kind of bubble," he shares.
