Musicians nowadays do not only work the stage and sing their hearts out. They also use their gift of words by writing their own books.
Case in point -- Jewel, Corey Taylor, and Young Buck.
Jewel's memoir, titled "Never Broken: Songs are Only Half of the Story," is set to hit stores on Sept. 15, and the book's cover has been recently released by People magazine. The Grammy-nominated country singer and songwriter's memoir includes intimate details about the star's life -- from her humble beginnings in Alaska to her rise to fame.
Jewel, 40, will also tap on her life experiences as she shares pieces of advice and life lessons to her readers in the memoir. The singer said in a statement, "My life has been about constantly challenging myself to discover who I am, and to become responsible for my own happiness rather than being a victim of whatever fate has thrown my way."
Jewel and her husband of six years, pro rodeo cowboy Ty Murray, announced their divorce in July last year.
The country star hopes that what she had gone through "will help others to understand that, no matter how bleak or how gilded, we are not prisoners of our circumstance unless we believe ourselves to be."
Meanwhile, G-Unit's Young Buck is also releasing a tell-all memoir. "Behind the Wall" is about the time he spent in prison. In 2012, the rapper was arrested on weapon charges and was sentenced to 18 months behind bars, Uproxx reports.
Resource Printing made the official announcement on their website last Apr. 27. According to the statement issued by the publisher, Young Buck "is looking forward to telling the story behind the music."
"I know I have a lot to share with my fans and I can offer an interesting story that has different parts many people can relate to and parts that some folks won't understand at all but will hopefully find fascinating," Young Buck, or David Brown in real life, said in his official statement regarding the book.
There is no official date of release for "Behind the Wall", but the publisher said the book will be out soon.
On a lighter side, Slipknot's frontman Cory Taylor is out with a new book. Taylor, 41, who is also the lead vocalist of Stone Sour, is to release "You're Making Me Hate You: A Cantakerous Look at the Common Misconception That Humans Have Any Common Sense" on July 7.
LoudWire reports that the book features Taylor's hilarious musings on various subjects that typically annoy him, such as people's rude public behavior, terrible fashion choices, and encountering bad drivers.
In line with the release of the book, Taylor is set to have a book signing tour from July 6 to 18. He is also set to promote the book during his evening solo gigs.
"You're Making Me Hate You" is the singer's third book. His first book, "Seven Deadly Sins" was released in 2010, followed by "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Heaven" in 2013.
Fans of Cory Taylor can pre-order "You're Making Me Hate You: A Cantakerous Look at the Common Misconception That Humans Have Any Common Sense" on the rocker's website.
