Frank Bailey, a former aide to Sarah Palin, was fined for using state e-mails in his book "Blind Allegiance to Sarah Palin" which came out last spring.
Anchorage Daily News reports that an activist had filed complaint with the attorney general's office upon finding out that Bailey had utilized contents from emails he obtained when he was a member of Palin's gubernatorial staff. Bailey was fined about $12,000 for violating state's ethics law, disclosing confidential information two other co-authors and releasing information in the book when explicitly told not to before publishing.
Bailey has agreed to pay the fine. In an email, he said that to his best efforts he left two items in the book which the state did not want published, and that the state deemed it against ethnic rules to share his personal emails with his co-authors.
