Amazon Introduces Kindle Direct Publishing For Mexican Authors and Publishers

In a recent announcement, Amazon revealed that Kindle Direct Publishing will now be available to Mexican authors and publishers to help them publish independently and make their books available on the device.

Mexico Kindle Store was launched August 29, 2013 by Amazon allowing Mexican authors and publishers to use the Spanish-language Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP). The device will enable Mexican-native authors to publish and make their work available to local as well as international readers across 175 countries. The best part of this service is that authors get to retain control of their content and copyrights along with receiving payments in Mexican Pesos.

"Mexican authors and publishers can now self-publish their books in the new Mexico Kindle Store with KDP, making their books available to customers in Mexico and all over the world," said Pedro Huerta, Director of Kindle Content, Latin America in a press release. "KDP is a powerful, self-service platform that allows authors to boldly experiment and fulfill their dreams of publishing. We've already seen many Spanish-language authors experience great success using the platform, and, in fact, there are many KDP titles in the Mexico Kindle Store already."

The newly launched service is an easy, free and fast method for authors to make their work available to Kindle customers. Authors earn 35% royalties on their books. The 70% royalty option is also available for those titles enrolled in KDP Select. The service also offers an option that allows authors to make their books available exclusively on Kindle devices. By doing so, the books are included in the Kindle Owners' Lending Library on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr and Amazon.co.jp. Authors earn money each time one of the books is borrowed. KDP also allows authors to offer their books for free for five days every 90 days as a promotional strategy.

Best-selling and iconic author Paulo Coelho is offering his books in the Mexico Kindle Store via KDP, including "El Alquimista" and "Once Minutos".

"I've been making all of my work available digitally for years now, and am excited to offer all of my books in the Mexico Kindle Store," said Coelho.
