Barnes & Noble's subsidiary NOOK Media LLC has announced that the new Pinterest application will now be available on its NOOK devices.
The new Pinterest application is now available on NOOK HD, NOOK HD+ and NOOK Tablet, announced Barnes & Noble's subsidiary NOOK Media LLC in a statement released Monday. The statement also announced that the NOOK color device will now be available preloaded with Twitter and a new Facebook for NOOK app. The applications can be downloaded by existing customers from the NOOK store.
"Pinterest has long been one of our most requested apps and we are thrilled to bring it to NOOK, along with the Twitter and Facebook for NOOK apps," said Claudia Romanini, Vice President of NOOK Apps, NOOK Media LLC. "Our goal is to bring NOOK users the very best in social media and these apps will bring to life the rich sharing experiences that Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter offer."
Executives of the company feel that the new Pinterest app will help NOOK users discover the things that inspire them and collect these things to act upon later. Also, now that Facebook is on NOOK, NOOK users will be able to keep track of what their friends are doing along with posting pictures, status updates, etc, instantly on their NOOK devices.
In addition to Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter, NOOK's social media app catalog is growing and diverse, with other leadings titles like Flipboard, Stumble Upon, Taptu and more available for free in the NOOK Store.
