Elizabeth Olsen continues to remain one of the public's favorites in casting polls to play the role of Anastasia Steele in the movie version of "Fifty Shades of Grey".
Time and again, many stars have been rumored to be cast for the lead roles in the movie adaptation of E.L. James' bestselling novel "Fifty Shades of Grey." While some early contenders have fallen off the radar with time, others continue to remain the public's favorite, according to leading polls related to the casting of the film.
One such star is Elizabeth Olsen. Right from the day when rumors of casting for the erotic film began, Olsen has remained one of the top favorites to play the role of Anastasia Steele in the film. She has been paired with Armie Hammer, who earlier had been the public's favorite for a potential Christen Grey. An interview with Bullet last July increased Olsen's chances of being cast in the film even more.
"It's had a huge impact on society. Apparently rope sales have skyrocketed because women who've read the book are really getting into bondage, which is kind of great. It's such a taboo for women to actually discuss sexuality without the help of Cosmopolitan," explained Elizabeth, adding, "All of a sudden, this book has become a sensation because the women reading it haven't had access to this kind of thing before. I was talking to a guy who was making a joke about it, saying 'Clearly these women just need to watch porn.' In a way, he's right."
Olsen even said that she was more than ready to play the role if she was offered it, provided the script was good.
While Hammer seemed to have dropped out of the casting polls, Vampire Dairies' blue-eyed boy Ian Somerhalder seems to be the public's new favorite, and has been on top of many casting polls for months now.
