After basing his first two books on the assassinations of two U.S. presidents, Bill O'Reilly now takes up the killing of Jesus for his next book
Fox TV's Bill O'Reilly's first two books, "Killing Kennedy: The End of Camelot" and "Killing Lincoln: The Shocking Assassination That Changed America Forever," were both bestsellers and highly acclaimed by critics worldwide. Now, after tackling the assassinations of two U.S. presidents, O'Reilly has decided to base his next book on another historic killing - the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
Publisher Henry Holt and Company revealed that O'Reilly has begun work on the book and it will be released September 24, 2013. The book will detail the historical and political scenarios that surrounded the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and the impact it had on the people of Nazareth.
"It is inarguable that Jesus was the most influential man to have ever lived," Stephen Rubin, Henry Holt's president and publisher, said in a statement. "I can think of no one better than Bill O'Reilly to write this story in a way that has never been told before."
Martin Dugard, the co-author of O'Reilly's previous two books, will also be co-writing this new book titled "Killing Jesus: A History," the publishers announced Thursday.
During his television show Wednesday, O'Reilly dropped a few hints about the book revealing that he and Dugard have come across exciting details about the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth and how it all tied to Roman power.
Previously O'Reilly was accused of putting in information that was inaccurate in his book "Killing Lincoln." However, the author later clarified that the errors were minor ones and had been corrected.
