Teenager Timothy Parker Russell has produced and edited a book of short ghost stories and plans to donate all the money he makes from it to charity.
Timothy Parker Russell, who is a young teenager studying at the Wensleydale school in North Yorkshire, has compiled a book of ghost stories and had announced that all the money the book makes will be donated to charity.
The book titled "Dark World" includes 14 short ghost stories from eminent writers like Reggie Oliver and Christopher Fowler. The book has been published by an independent Yorkshire based publishing house named Tartarus.
A trip to Amala, a Children's Home in India, inspired Russell to compile this book to provide funds for charity. He is very passionate about any and everything to do with the "supernatural" and hopes his new book will be appreciated by a global audience. Apart from his passion for this topic, Russell also reveals that he wrote this book because the wanted this anthology to "cross cultures." Stories such as these have been around from the beginning of time and are known everywhere.
Russell asked authors to submit stories on the Tartarus Press website and the response was overwhelming. The teenage had to pick out 14 of the best from the flood of submissions and edited each of them himself. He said all the work was a bit hassling as he also had his A levels to study for but admits it was fun reading all the short stories.
All the money the book makes will be donated to better the lives of all the orphans at Amala Children's Home, who otherwise would not have had any place to stay. Russell will also be doing voluntary work at the charity home this summer.
