AI-generated books sold on Amazon have recently surfaced with topics targeting the British Royal family. Mail On Sunday recently uncovered a series of AI-generated books on the popular platform Amazon, containing false and damaging narratives about key members of the Royal household, including Kate Middleton, the late Princess Diana, and Queen Elizabeth. 

False Claims About King's Health Prompted Legal Action

This distressing discovery comes on the heels of a recent investigation by The Mail on Sunday, which uncovered offensive AI-generated books on Amazon speculating about King Charles's cancer. The revelation prompted Buckingham Palace to consult lawyers, expressing their dismay at the offensive content.

The AI books had made up stories about the King's cancer, including false details about how he found out and baseless claims about certain types of cancer diagnoses. The books appeared on Amazon shortly after the announcement regarding King Charles' diagnosis of an unspecified form of cancer and the initiation of treatment.

While the offensive books about King Charles were eventually removed, Amazon has not disclosed whether any of the authors' accounts were suspended or if additional measures would be taken to prevent the sale of such misleading books. Additionally, the authors of all identified AI books remain unknown, as Amazon has declined to disclose their identities.

Kate Middleton's Alleged Illegal Drug Consumption

More AI-generated books containing offensive slanders about the Royal Family were uncovered on Sunday, violating Amazon's content guidelines. These books, crafted by AI software, are cunningly presented alongside legitimate biographies.

One such book, titled "Prince William Biography: A Captivating Autobiography Of The Future King," accuses Princess Kate Middleton of consuming illegal drugs during her gap year studying in Florence. The book claims to share new insights into the Royal family through the lens of Prince William. Also, it delves into the prince's relationship with Kate Middleton, as described on Amazon.

Despite being on the platform since May 2023, the Prince William biography has yet to be removed by Amazon's purported 'proactive' procedures designed to enforce content guidelines.

Baseless Allegations Targeting the Royal Family

Another baseless book alleges that MI6 was responsible for Princess Diana's death. Former senior military intelligence officer Philip Ingram dismissed this claim as 'incendiary rubbish.' The book lacks an identifiable author but claims to be a part of a series named "The Complete Guide Editions," covering a range of topics from D-Day to Barbie.

The third book, "The Biography And Death Of Queen Elizabeth II: What Caused The Death Of Queen Elizabeth," published the day after her death, contains hurtful lies in its AI-generated content. Amazon removed two of the books after being contacted by The Mail on Sunday. Still, as of press time, the Prince William biography remains available for sale.

An Amazon spokesman stated that the company has content guidelines governing which books may be listed for sale, including a prohibition on AI-generated content that creates a poor customer experience. They asserted that Amazon employs proactive and reactive measures to assess and remove titles that violate guidelines.
