The "Barbie" marketing phenomenon continues its stride, with the blockbuster film earning a staggering $1.4 billion. Despite numerous collaborations and a pink-powered press tour, there is more to explore from Margot Robbie's Golden Globes-winning performance as the iconic doll.
Robbie, the star and producer of "Barbie," along with her stylist Andrew Mukamal, crafted numerous Mattel doll-inspired looks that did not get their moment on the pink carpets. Unfortunately, the press tour was cut short due to writers' and actors' strikes. However, fans can now rejoice as these unseen outfits and more will be featured in an upcoming book titled "Barbie: The World Tour."
The book's cover features Robbie in a pose similar to that depicted on a classic Barbie doll packaging. The cover is reminiscent of a 1995 Chanel runway outfit by Claudia Schiffer, projecting glamor and honoring Barbie's legacy in fashion.
The book features stunning images by fashion photographer Craig McDean, providing an inside look into the glitz and glamor surrounding Robbie's Barbie-inspired transformations. The book goes beyond mere photographs, incorporating rare images from Mattel's archives, designer sketches, Polaroid photos, and more, all artistically presented in collages by art director Fabien Baron.
Robbie and Mukamal will detail the creative process and the countless hours invested in bringing Barbie's world to life. Mukamal expresses, 'This book is the culmination of tens of thousands of hours of work by some of the most talented and creative visionaries and designers on Earth.'

Lisa McKnight, Mattel's executive vice president and chief brand officer, expressed enthusiasm for the project. McKnight shared that the project is the ultimate realization of Barbiecore as it will highlight classic styles influenced by Barbie's 65-year fashion history, which Robbie and Andrew are now bringing to life.
Robbie and Mukamal collaborated closely with luxury houses like Chanel, Donatella Versace, Balmain's Olivier Rousteing, and former Moschino creative director Jeremy Scott. They recreated Barbie's vintage looks with a modern, high-fashion flair.
Inspired by archive dolls, the "Barbie" press tour looks were nothing short of a fashion sensation, contributing to the global takeover of Barbiecore pink in the fashion world. Each outfit showcased Barbie's timeless influence, from Hervé Legér bandage dresses to Valentino mini dresses.
The eagerly awaited book offers a sneak peek into Barbie's fashion journey, making it a must-have for fans and fashion enthusiasts alike. Featuring handwritten contributions from the designers behind the looks, ranging from Olivier Rousteing and Michelle Ochs to Manolo Blahnik and Jeremy Scott, this unique book combines the serious fun of Barbie's world with the serious chic of high fashion-the dolls, the history, and the style that have captured people's imaginations for 65 years.
"Barbie: The World Tour" is now available for pre-order at various online and physical booksellers, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Bookshop. To be published by Rizzoli on March 19, the 160-page book, priced at $55, promises a visual feast celebrating the iconic doll's enduring impact on style and culture.
