Pan Macmillan will soon publish a posthumous memoir of Lisa Marie Presley. Finished by her daughter Riley Keough, the yet-to-be-titled memoir will be released on October 15 and will offer details about her life.
Lisa Marie's death prompted Keough to finish the memoir, portions of which Lisa Marie had recorded in part on tape. The upcoming book will explore Lisa Marie's relationships with her mother, Priscilla, and her famous father, Elvis. The memoir will also discuss her marriages to Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage. The painful loss of her son Benjamin Keough, who tragically committed suicide in 2020, will also be told. The memoir is mostly written in Lisa Marie's own words, with Keough 'filling in the blanks' from her own memories.
Keough expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to share her mother's true self through the memoir. Keough mentioned that few people had the chance to know Lisa Marie beyond her identity as Elvis' daughter, and working on the autobiography has been a bittersweet privilege for her.

Lisa Marie tragically passed away at the age of 54 due to a bowel obstruction a few years following bariatric surgery. She is currently resting in peace at Memphis, Tennessee's Graceland family estate, where her father was buried in 1977. Sara Cywinski, the publishing director at Pan Macmillan, emphasized the significance of presenting Lisa Marie through the eyes of Keough and those closest to her. Cywinski hopes the memoir will help future generations understand the complexities of being a Presley.
At the same time as the printed book becomes available, an audiobook of the memoir will also be released. Keough will talk in the audiobook, and you will hear parts of Lisa Marie's voice. Lisa Marie, who was a singer and made three albums named "To Whom It May Concern," "Now What," and "Storm & Grace," left a musical legacy that the upcoming memoir will delve deeper into.
While expressing her enthusiasm for the memoir, Keough conveyed her desire for readers to develop an affection for her mother comparable to her own, particularly during moments when Lisa Marie was open and sincere. The memoir intends to offer a deeper and genuine comprehension of Lisa Marie, going beyond the widespread perception of her merely as Elvis's daughter.
The Presley family has recently become the focus of public interest through various entertainment projects, including films like Baz Luhrmann's "Elvis" in 2022 and Sofia Coppola's "Priscilla" the year before. Following Lisa Marie's sudden passing, the family encountered further challenges. Priscilla and Keough were involved in a legal disagreement over Lisa Marie's possessions. In May 2023, they resolved to appoint Keough as the exclusive trustee of Lisa Marie's estate and a member of Elvis's estate.
Addressing the publicized tensions, Priscilla clarified that she and Keough have always been on good terms, dispelling any notions of discord. As the memoir's publication date approaches, readers can anticipate a deeply personal and revealing exploration of the Presley family's life and dynamics.
