Twi-hards have been waiting for years to see the epic final film adaption of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2." Boy, were they in for a surprise ending.
Cast members of "BD Part 2" have been teasing about a surprise ending ever since "Twilight" promotions, including Taylor Lautner (Jacob), Robert Pattinson (Edward) and Kristen Stewart (Bella).
Many could of thought that the sex scenes, which were also talked about a lot, were going to be the biggest deal of all, even close to R-Rated features. But it wasn't the hot vampire sex scenes, it was the fighting scene between the Volturi and the Cullens, the wolf pack, and the witnesses that came to stand by Renesmee as a half-human, half-vampire, not an immortal child.
The action sequence [SPOILER] was touched on in Stephanie Meyer's novel but was not written out. The movie replaced Alice's vision with an actual battle sequence, where popular characters, such as Seth Clearwater and Jasper Cullen, are killed by the Volturi. Watching the film, you would think that it was happening in the film, but it was only Alice's vision of what would happen to Aro if he would decide to fight the Cullens (he would die, along with all his witnesses and other Volturi members).
"It was a close call, because they did say it was very, very intense," director Bill Condon said about the R rating it almost received, according to MTV News.
"I wrote a letter [to the MPAA ratings board] and said that this is the only way we could do it, and they were cool [with it]," he added. "They said to pull back a little on the sound, the crunchy [head-smashing/decapitating] sound, and we did, and that got us our [PG-13] rating. There was one [effect] where we rip a head and you kind of see it come apart [that] I was sure we would have more trouble with, but we didn't."
Now we know that the sex scenes aren't the reason for the almost R-Rated movie. We don't think vampire love-making would of made it that way anyway, because there was only one sex steamy sex scene, and it wasn't all that graphic. Just a lot of face-making and body entanglement.
Even Stewart said that sex scenes weren't that steamy at all. As a matter of fact, she called shooting the love scenes "awful."
"Bill (director Bill Condon) kept saying that he wanted to make this one feel like you're very much inside of the experience. Like you're there, you're sort of a part of it, which is odd," Stewart said, according to Country Telegraph. "But to do that we had to look directly into the camera instead of at each other."
"It was awful!" Stewart admitted. "I was like, 'Bill, you're depriving me of this experience. We've been waiting for vampire sex! What are you doing?!'"
No matter the rating, fans are going to see the epic finale of Bella and Edward's love story, now complete with a daughter. "Breaking Dawn Part 2" is now in theaters.
