Jeffrey Zaslow, the co-author of the best-selling book "The Last Lecture," was killed Friday in an car accident on the snowy road of northern Michigan. He died at the age of 53.
On his way to promoted his latest book "The Magic Room: A Story About the Love We Wish for Our Daughter," Zaslow lost control of the car about 160 miles northwest of Lansing. His car slid and was hit by a semitrailer and died on impact.
The victim's name was not released by the Sherriff's department, however Zaslow's literary agent Gary Morris confirmed his death.
"He was the most industrious and hardest working author I know," Morris said. "He never turned anything in late. He turned in the cleanest copy. It really was ethics. He was completely selfless in the writing of his own books and collaborations with others."
Zaslow was a former columnist of The Wall Street Journal and former advice columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times. He also worked on the memoirs of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and airline pilot Chesley Sullenberger.
Zaslow is survived by his wife, Sherry, and three kids, Alex, Eden and Jordan.
