Every month, new authors debut while some writers make their last breath. Nevertheless, their legacies are eternally immortalized through their remarkable works in literature and other fields.

Here are some authors who passed away this August:

Ann wrote the popular book "Stone Soup", which already sold millions of copies. In the story, a young man was refused a meal by a greedy old lady. He then asked for a stone, claiming that he can make a soup from a stone.

Born in 1930, Ann McGovern turned 85 on May 25.
