There are countless iPhone charging docks in all manners of shapes and sizes. However, all of them cannot be compared to the Possession Book Charging Dock in terms of novelty.
When you first see the book dock, you might think the iPhone is cleverly balancing on top of a book. In fact, it's a charging dock not only for the iPhone, but also for other iOS devices. The dock was invented by A.S. Byatt of 2000, which tries to make the illusion for you.
"It looks like a mild-mannered book on a table or a desk, you almost don't notice that it's an iPhone charger. No more dropping the cord behind the desk or nightstand! The charging cord is well secured into the book, and it's designed to be compatible with all iPods and iPhones (iPhone 3G, 3GS & iPhone 4, 4s), it accommodates sync and charge functions via the USB cable, and although the wall connector is not included, wall adapters come standard with all iDevices," the product's description read.
Every dock features a power cord (wall adapter excluded) threaded through the book, with a slot on the front cover to dock your iDevices.
All the book docks are handmade to order, which are available through Etsy. with prices ranging from $45 to $55. Moreover, there's an iPad dock for $72 and a iPhone/iPad combo model for $85.
Byatt is obviously a book fan. Besides converting the books into the docks, he even wrote on the Etsy profile, "Our goal is to bring more books into your life, even if it's just so that you see it daily and are reminded of how wonderful a book can be. Maybe you'll be inspired to read that book you've been meaning to."
