Amazon has announced yet another round of discounts of its Kindle devices and this time the discount is for mothers who have Amazon Prime.
Only last Monday did Amazon announce a one day discount on its 8.9-inch Kindle Fire tablets and now the giant online retailers have announced another round of discounts. Amazon is now offer all mothers who are members of Amazon Mom and have Amazon Prime $20 off a Kindle Fire, $25 off the 7-inch Kindle Fire HD, and the same $50 off its 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD
Amazon Mom is an Amazon subscription that offers discounts on diapers and baby wraps throughout the year. The membership is free of cost and one doesn't really need to be a mom to join.
While Amazon seems to be in the festive mood of sharing and giving, experts can't help but wonder if there's any other motive behind these huge discounts, especially since its only been three weeks that they have launched their 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD device.
Tech website Gizmodo reported, "All versions of the 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD-there are eight SKUs, if you count With and Without Special Offers-are on sale. That sale is being heavily promoted on the Amazon home page and on sites like this one. Despite that, only the very cheapest model has cracked Amazon's Top 20 in sales for Electronics. That's not promising. By contrast, seven of the top 10 products on that list are other types of Kindles."
