Apple's iPad Mini is creating heat waves and flying off the shelves with its production sales seeing a 28 percent growth in ad impressions per day.
Last year Amazon's Kindle Fire was the hot-selling device of the year with a 19 percent growth in ad impressions per day. This year Apple's iPad Mini has beat that sales figure reporting a 28 percent growth in ad impressions per day.
Tablets have carved their way into becoming one of the most popular Christmas gift and just like last year, this year too tablets have seen a remarkable increase in sales during the holiday season. Apple Insider reports, "the initial user base has already made an impact on the advertising firm's platform."
"Every holiday season there seems to be one particular item that stands out as the 'must have gift' of the year, and in 2012, early figures lead us to believe that this could be the iPad mini," writes Millennial Media SVP of Global Monetization Solutions Matt Gillis. "Truth be told, don't tell my kids but there are already two sitting under our tree at home."
According to more reports online, experts expect the sale of the tablet will continue to increase without cannibalizing sales of other tablets. Another November report from Nielsen, children have shown keen interests in the iPad and the iPad Mini.
"While we expect a massive amount of iPad minis to be received as gifts (and not opened until the end of the month), it appears that many folks couldn't wait for the holidays to come and have rapidly embraced the newly sized iPad. Specifically, we have already seen a noticeable number of impressions on our platform," continues Gillis in his report.
