Twi-hards, prepare to have your Twi-hearts broken once again. As the Daily Mail reports, "Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2" stars and former on- and off-screen couple Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart will not be appearing at the final four upcoming fan conventions promoting the film. Taylor Lautner will also not be making appearances.
The upcoming events are scheduled for Saturday in San Antonio; Sept. 29 in Detroit; Oct. 5 in Parsippany, N.J.; and Nov. 3 in Los Angeles. Los Angeles is the only one they all attended in 2011.
"The passion and dedication of Twilight fandom has been amazing and we're out to throw one last giant convention, a final gathering to see old friends that have made up the Twilight family," said Creation Entertainment. "Although Rob, Kristen and Taylor will not be with us this time out we will have a super line-up of other Twilight stars and the weekend will be filled with special events, movie prop and costume displays, contests, panels, auctions, parties, exclusive merchandise, music and much more, including some surprises!"
According to Pattinson's manager Nicholas Frenkel, "We have not canceled any confirmed professional appearances for Robert. Specifically, he was never invited or set to attend these events."
An anonymous source close to Stewart concurs, adding "This is just another event that she definitely didn't cancel because she was never scheduled to attend in the first place."
Of course, the next concern is the premiere's red carpet in November. A lot can happen in three months.
The four "Twilight" films in which the two starred have grossed more than $1 billion at the worldwide box office for Summit Entertainment. The next film in the franchise, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (Part 2)," will be released on Nov. 16.
Pattinson and Stewart's troubles came to light after she disclosed her infidelities with married director Rupert Sanders, with whom she worked on "Snow White and the Huntsman."
Universal, which was planning a "Snow White" sequel, is considering other approaches, but last week denied a report that the studio had dropped the actress from the project.
Pattinson, who holed up at Reese Witherspoon's Ojai, Calif., home after the scandal, reemerged this week to promote his new film "Cosmopolis," which scored at the box office this weekend.
Pattinson has yet to answer any questions related to Stewart and their relationship.
