Stephanie Cutter has a lot to say these days.
Cutter, Obama's deputy campaign manager, reportedly whacked Rudy Guiliani Sunday after the former New York City mayor questioned Vice President Joe Biden's "mental capacity" to be president, according to ABC OTUS News via Yahoo.
Cutter invoked Guiliani's endorsement of Sarah Palin during the 2008 presidential race in which she ran in Sen. John McCain's running mate on the GOP ticket.
"I would like to point back to his glowing introduction of Sarah Palin during the 2008 Convention," Cutter said. "So if he wants to criticize the capacity of the vice president to take hold of this country, he should go back and look at those remarks and whether he still believes that there true." (Watch HERE)
Giuliani made comments on Tuesday that Biden isn't "bright" on CNBC.
"I mean, there's a real fear if, God forbid, he ever had to be entrusted with the presidency, whether he really has the mental capacity to handle it," Giuliani said. It was in response to comments Biden made to an audience that included African American in Virginia, where he said, "They're going to put ya'll back in chains."
In more recent news, Cutter said on "This Week" that she didn't know any details behind the death of a woman whose husband, Joe Soptic, appeared in a third party advertisement attacking Mitt Romney, according to ABC News.
The advertisement, which essentially places blame on Romney for the death of Soptic's wife from cancer, was paid for by Priorities USA, a super PAC that supports President Obama.
"I didn't know the facts of when Mr. Soptic's wife got sick, and I only recently learned that through all of the hysteria over that ad," Cutter said "But, Jake, what I do know is what Mr. Soptic's experience was with GST Steel, after Mitt Romney bought it, loaded it up with debt, overleveraged it, paid himself excess profits and fees, but then forced that company into bankruptcy, leaving Mr. Soptic without a job, without health care, and without his pension."
The Romney campaign lashed out at the Obama campaign for the advertisement, saying it was running a campaign composed of "ugly distortions and lies."
"They have gone from what started out as petty distortions and untruths to unbelievable exaggerations that diminish the office of the president and insult the American people," Romney senior adviser Eric Fehrnstrom said.
Recently, Cutter defended Obama's campaign handling of the media in an appearance on Sunday's "State of the Union."
According to the Huffington Post, Obama has not formally taken questions from White House reports in two months. Frustrated members of the media sounded off on his interviews with "People" and "Entertainment Tonight."
"I don't think that they're more important, but I think they're equally important," Cutter said about Obama's interviews with the two media outlets. "I think that's where a lot of Americans get their news. And I think the president's going to continue doing that."
She also said that Obama has been speaking to reporters as he travels around the country.
