"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" are the most anticipated film releases this fall, Variety reports.
The data is based on a crowd anticipation poll conducted by Piedmont annually.
The poll tracked 3,000 people and found that both films gained one of the highest anticipation ratings in Piedmont history, which began tracking film ratings five years ago. On a scale of 0 to 1000, "Mockingjay Part 2" harvested a 514 rating, the highest overall number so far.
"Star Wars" closely folllows with a 495 rating. However, "Avengers: Age of Ultron" also made a record last summer with a 509 score.
"Those are huge numbers," said Joshua Lynn, president of Piedmont Media Research, as quoted by Variety.
Lionsgate announced the decision to split the adaptation of the final "Hunger Games" book into two films three years ago, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.
The film is directed by Francis Lawrence, the same director who made all previous films. The movie stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta and Liam Hemsworth as Gale.
Since 2012, the showing of a "Hunger Games" movie had become a November tradition for the fandom and other moviegoers.
"The Hunger Games" series is set in futuristic country Panem, where a Capitol rules over twelve enslaved districts with different sources of livelihood each.
Each year, the Capitol holds The Games, where two tributes from each district kill each other until the last remaining tribute is hailed Victor.
The story centers on Katniss Everdeen, an eighteen-year-old girl in District 12, the poorest district, who volunteered herself as tribute at the 74th Game once her little sister's name was drawn. She competes alongside Peeta, who later falls in love with her but she does not reciprocate the feelings.
The final book "Mockingjay" is set in the thirteenth district, which was believed to be completely destroyed after their rebellion, right after the 75th Games.
By then, Katniss Everdeen had become the living symbol of the "mockingjay", the blazing fire that leads the rebellion and uprising of districts against the Capitol.
"Mockingjay Part 1" ends with a successful mission to rescue Peeta from the Capitol. However, Peeta came back brainwashed by the Capitol and intends to kill Katniss upon seeing her.
In the second part of "Mockingjay" adaptation, a lot of brave and innocent lives will be claimed including big roles. In the stunning conclusion of the series, Katniss decides, for the last time, who the real enemy is.
"Mockingjay Part 2" is coming to theaters on November 20.
