"Star Wars" anticipation further mounts with the release of books detailing the original plot of the saga. According to IGN, the upcoming novels are based on the films released almost four decades ago but will be told through the perspective of one specific character.

The books are slated to be released in Sept 22 before "The Force Awakens" premieres on the big screen. The "Star Wars" novelization is aimed at younger readers to give them enough background knowledge prior to watching the upcoming film. The books can also serve as a springboard to pique the interest of children.

The first book in the series entitled "The Princess, the Scoundrel, and the Farmboy" will be told in Princess Leia's point of view and is based on the first 1977 "Star Wars" movie "A New Hope". The book, penned by author Alexandra Bracken, will contain new information that are not shown in the film The second book, based on "The Empire Strikes Back" will be told through the voice of Jedi Master Yoda and chronicles the Luke Skywalker's jedi training. Entitled "So You Want to be a Jedi?", the second book is written by Adam Giowitz. The third and final book in the series, "Beware of the Dark Side!", tells the story of "Return of the Jedi" in Darth Vader's perspective. The third book is by Tom Angleberger.

"But [the books] are more than just mere retellings from this top talent; these are fresh interpretations - true to the films but filtered through each author's vision," Star Wars' official website says. "In each novel, the authors get inside the characters' heads, tell us about the scenes between the scenes, and even teach us how to be a Jedi."

The website also revealed the cover art for each of the novels, along with an excerpt from the the first book "The Princess, the Scoundrel, and the Farmboy."

George Lucas' "Star Wars" trilogy was first released in 1977 to box-office acclaim. It was followed by "The Empire Strikes Back" in 1980 and "Return of the Jedi" in 1983 and has garnered a huge cult following among movie-goers. More than 20 years after the first "Star Wars" film was produced, the series' prequel trilogy premiered, also to worldwide box-office sucess. The continuation to the "Star Wars" saga, "The Force Awakens," has been highly-anticipated since its announcement in 2013 and it will hit theaters by December of this year.
