Android Police revealed that Google has now started selling eBooks through its play store in nine more European countries.

The nine new additions include The Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Greece, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland and Romania. This takes the total number of countries where Google sells eBooks to 27 with the others including U.S., U.K., Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Portugal, Russia, South Korea and Spain.

Google Play Books is an interesting section to venture into for those who love reading. In fact, Google updated its Play Books app for iOS and Android devices only in May this year to allow users to read their own PDF and EPUB files. Play Books app users can upload their files through the Google Play website and read those across all their devices.

Late last week, Google Play surpassed 50 billion downloads since it was first started four years ago. Google is rapidly growing and recently Chairman Eric Schmidt announced at Dive Into Mobile 2013 that nearly 1.5 million Android devices are activated daily with 900 million devices in total.

"At Google I/O in 2012 there was roughly 400 million, so it more than doubled in 2013. By the end of the year we'll probably be well past the 1 billion mark, and come Google I/O 2014 we're assuming that Larry will again go up on stage and announce that there is now nearly 1.4 billion," a report in Android Community stated.
