Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, might be preparing to release a second memoir with more explosive revelations. Harry's first memoir stirred controversy in January 2023 as it told private moments inside the royal family.
There is a lot of speculation whether Harry, who already alluded to saving some anecdotes for later in his writing career about "Spare," would write another book with the untold stories.
In his first memoir, Harry revealed the details of a physical fight with his brother, Prince William, and an argument during Prince Philip's funeral. He also revealed conflicts between their spouses, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle.
Prince Harry had previously hinted at possessing enough material for a second book, suggesting there were details purposely omitted from "Spare." Despite revealing significant details, Prince Harry mentioned that he refrained from sharing certain anecdotes involving his father and brother, fearing irreparable damage to their relationships. According to a source close to the couple, the content in the first book is just the beginning, and more truth bombs are waiting to be dropped.
The insider hinted that if the rift between Harry and the royal family persists and he feels cornered by his father and brother, he may have no choice but to disclose more shocking revelations. Given that certain secret details were intentionally omitted from "Spare," Prince Harry might decide to reveal them if the situation demands.
Reflecting on the writing process, Prince Harry told The Telegraph that the memoir could have been split into two books, and the challenging part was deciding what to exclude. He shared that the first draft was 800 pages, and it was cut down to half for the final book. He also mentioned certain events involving his relationship with his brother and father that he intentionally chose to keep private because he believed they would be unforgivable revelations.

As 2024 unfolds, questions linger about Harry and Meghan's career direction, with ongoing interest in future projects and ventures. Meanwhile, the aftermath of "Spare" continues to influence perceptions of the royal family and its unity, as historian Dr. Ed Owens discussed on the "Pod Save the King" podcast.
The narrative of a united family monarchy, initially built around King Charles III and his sons, has been significantly challenged by the events following Harry and Meghan's departure in 2020. The lasting impact of "Spare" on the royal family's image and dynamics remains a subject of ongoing interest and scrutiny.
The speculation on Prince Harry's second memoir also comes along with Meghan possibly releasing her own memoir. Experts caution that it could harm her career if she does not handle it well. Mark Boardman, a 20-year entertainment industry veteran, highlighted that Meghan's ties to the British Royal Family and her modern celebrity status make her personal story in demand, though perhaps not as much as Harry's on a global level.
"Spare" topped the best-selling charts in the UK in 2023. Sales figures from The Bookseller reveal that the sales of this memoir amounted to over 700,00 copies, which is superior to the second-highest book on the list by approximately a figure equal to 18% of the total increase. Despite the shockwaves the book sent globally, no member of the Royal Family has officially commented on its contents.
