Everyone is dying for more information about the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie.
So far, any real information about the upcoming erotic film has been scarcely thrown out there to fans or the media by bestselling author E.L. James and the two producers, Michael de Luca and Dana Brunetti.
Recently, James appeared on the Katie Couric show to chat about the book and casting.
According to USA Today, Couric revealed that a Facebook poll of show fans revealed that Alexis Bledel should play Anastasia Steele and Ian Somerhalder should be cast as Christian Grey.
What did E.L. have to say about the movie?
"Ummm," she laughed. "It's a sort of collaborative effort, but there's, you know, a studio, a production company, there's two producers, and at some point there's going to be a director. So I'm sure everybody will have input into that. And I have I think three people who could fit, I think, could play Christian and about four who could play Ana. And I'm not going to tell you any of them."
James said something similar to this in previous interviews. But does she hint that they already picked a screenwriter? Wouldn't she have said, "a studio, a production company, there's two producers, and at some point there's going to be a director AND SCREENWRITER?"
Who really knows at this point.
The "Fifty Shades" trilogy ("Fifty Shades of Grey," "Fifty Shades Darker," "Fifty Shades Freed"), written by bestselling author E.L. James, tells the story of 22-year-old recent college grad Anastasia Steele, who enters into a dominant/submissive sexual relationship with 27-year old sexy billionaire Christian Grey, and both explore Christian's world of BDSM while trying to understand their complicated relationship.
"True Blood" star Alexander Skarsgard may have hinted at a finished script Monday in an interview with ET Canada.
According to TheStir.CafeMom.com, Skarsgard recently admitted that he would play the much coveted role of Christian Grey.
And when asked about that possibility by ET Canada, Skarsgard, 36, responded with, "Of course. It's a great script." What does this "script" actually mean? Is there a real script involved? If so, that means there is a screenwriter.
He sounded excited, then tried to clean it up by saying there are "so many variables" when it comes to taking the role and added, "It depends on who's directing it and who's in it." This means that Skarsgard is considering taking the part if offered to him.
In early August it was reported that the producers have narrowed it down to four front-runners for writers: Karen Croner, Dan Fogelman, Veena Sud, and Kelly Marcel. [NOTICE: three out of the four are women]
What do you think? Have the producers picked a screenwriter, let alone have a script?
