"What is wrong with America today?"
This is a question a lot of people are asking. It seems that race, stereotypes, and gender all play a part this year centering on politics.
The Huffington Post reported that two attendees at the Republican National Convention were thrown out of the convention center in Tampa on Tuesday after throwing nuts at a black CNN camerawoman.
The attendees said, "This is how we feed animals."
CNN reported that multiple witnesses saw it happen, and police immediately removed the two people from the premises.
Former MSNBC and Current host David Shuster, who is attending the convention, tweeted about the incident earlier on Tuesday:

"CNN can confirm there was an incident directed at an employee inside the Tampa Bay Times Forum earlier this afternoon," CNN said in a statement. "CNN worked with convention officials to address this matter and will have no further comment." There was no immediate mention of the attack on CNN's air.
The convention condemned the incident in a statement, saying, "Two attendees tonight exhibited deplorable behavior. Their conduct was inexcusable and unacceptable. This kind of behavior will not be tolerated."
CNN's Wolf Blitzer spoke out about the racist attack. He said the incident was "truly shocking" and "hit home" for people at the network.
"It's just an ugly reminder that there is an element of hatred that still exists in our country," he said.
Is it really truly shocking? Do people really believe that racism has gone away in this country?
The topic of Paul Ryan's black ex-girlfriend sparked furious debate everywhere.
When it was recently revealed that the Mitt Romney vice-presidential candidate had a history with a black woman, many African Americans started questioning, "Does it really matter?"
Many also believed that America is still a racist country since the media chose to focus on this aspect of Ryan instead of his actual campaign.
It was also recent reported that Yahoo News fired Washington bureau chief David Chalian today after a hot-mic incident during an online broadcast from the GOP convention in Tampa. During the broadcast, Chalian can be heard saying that Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his wife Ann were "not concerned at all" and "happy to have a party with black people drowning." Chalian seemed to be referring to the simultaneous occurrence of the GOP convention convening in Tampa and Hurricane Isaac hammering its way across the gulf coast and through New Orleans.
Brietbart.com fired back about the statement:
"Here's a look at the black, bitter, bitter, ugly and biased souls of our corrupt media during ABC News' live-feed coverage yesterday ...This is who the media is. This is what Romney and all Republicans are up against. In what atmosphere does a so-called reporter feel comfortable firing off this kind of vicious joke?
We must defeat these people because that's what they intend to do to us. When you believe our nominee is happy to party while black people drown, you can only believe that we possess no humanity. You can't reason with people who hate you. You just can't."
