The producers of "Fifty Shades of Grey" have yet to pick a screenwriter as one confirmed that he will not be a part of the steamy experience.

According to the Examiner, "American Psycho" writer Bret Easton Ellis is no longer being considered for the film adaption.

"Fifty Shades of Grey," written by bestselling author E.L. James, tells the story of 22-year-old recent college grad Anastasia Steele, who enters into a dominant/submissive sexual relationship with a BDSM-crazed billionaire named Christian Grey.

The author more recently revealed this summer that he was being considered to be a movie writer for EL James' bestselling novel's take to the big screen. He also gave his opinion on who he would like to see cast for the film (for Anastasia Steele, he supported Scarlett Johansson or Kristen Stewart, and for Christian Grey, Ryan Gosling or Alexander Skarsgard).

On Tuesday, Ellis confirmed that he was no longer in the running for the screenwriter position.

"It's a very major disappointment to announce that I've somehow been taken off the list of possible screenwriters for Fifty Shades of Grey," Ellis tweeted on his Twitter page.

He added, "Thanks to the fans for the months of intense support. Your awesome enthusiasm and great suggestions were instructive and meaningful to me..."

According to the Examiner, the author also tweeted to James in response to his being removed from the running list.

"I hope you find someone as passionate as I was about '50 Shades of Grey.' I'll miss it. Moving on. Laters, baby."

Does this mean that "The Social Network" producers, Michael De Luca and Dana Brunett, have already a screenwriter in mind? Who knows.

Earlier in July, screenwriter Jim Piddock was supposedly in the running for the position, but no news has been confirmed.

Speaking of Ellis, he recently took to Twitter to reveal that he does not want "White Collar" star Matt Bomer in the "Fifty Shades" movie.

He wrote, "Fifty Shades of Grey: Casting Matt Bomer is the equivalent as casting Jesse Tyler Ferguson..."

Gather Entertainment wrote that his tweet was a bit confusing:

"Does he think that a gay actor is incapable of playing Christian Grey, or was he trying to say that Matt is better suited for comedy? The only thing that Matt and Jesse really have in common is that they're gay and they're actors, so Ellis' tweet doesn't make much sense."

Either way, female fans already know who they want to play the key role of Christian Grey.
