Naruto Fiction Books in the Works

The Naruto universe continues to get bigger from manga to anime and now, fiction books. Fans of the insanely popular and long-running anime will be treated to a series of prose novels set in the world of the most popular shinobi in history, but these tales will not be about Naruto.

The first book in the rich lineup is titled "Naruto: Kakashi's Story," which will hit the shelves on Nov. 3. As expected, the book will focus on the journey of the sixth Hokage as he becomes one of most feared and well-regarded shinobi in the entire ninja world.

The book accounts the events in the brilliant ninja's life that occurred one year after the Fourth Great Ninja War. Around this time, Kakashi is close to becoming a hokage. His missions and adventures before transforming into one will be told in the book. The rest of the description for the book as per Galley Cat reads:

"But first he heads to the Land of Waves for a dangerous mission rescuing hostages from a top secret airship. There he confronts a ninja whose heart is frozen by tragedy. Having lost both his friend's eye and his greatest abilities, can Kakashi really protect anyone? What is the true meaning of the will of fire gained in the distant heavens? Kakashi finds these answers and more as he opens the door to a new ninja era."

According to Design & Trend, lucky attendees of the recently-concluded New York Comic Con were able to purchase copies of "Naruto: Kakashi's Story" before it even goes officially on sale. Nonetheless, more fans are close to taking home the book, which features a cover art by Naruto manga creator himself, Masashi Kishimoto.

The story, however, was written by Akira Higashiyama, who also wrote the anime flick "Naruto the Movie: Blood Prison," which was released back in 2011. Japanese translator Jocelyne Allen translate the book to English. It is currently discounted on Amazon, from $10.99 to $7.45.

Also releasing on Nov. 3 is an all-new illustration book titled "Uzumaki Naruto: Illustrations Book," as per Design & Trend. This title collects a bunch of Kishimoto's artworks of Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura and many more characters spread through its (around 100) pages "in all of its colorful glory."

Included in it are annotations and commentaries from Kishimoto himself, as well as a "beautiful double-sided poster and a sticker sheet."
