It's Prince William's birthday today.  He catches up in age with his wife Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, by heading into the third decade of his life.  Turning 30 also has another, perhaps an even more grander significance for the future King of England. 

Today, Prince William is not only older, he is also $15 million richer.  He will inherit the money from his mother's estate, which she bequeathed to the Prince and his brother. Princess Diana's estate was considerably less but it is believed that the fund grew thanks to sound investment on the part of the managers of the estate.

The Daily Mail reports, "Her (Princess Diana) estate comprised stocks and shares, jewellery, cash from her £17million divorce settlement, dresses and other personal belongings at her Kensington Palace apartment. Diana stipulated that it would be held in trust to be shared equally between her two sons, even though William will inherit income from the Duchy of Cornwall estate when he becomes Prince of Wales."

Prince William is expected to celebrate his birday quietly amongst close friends.
