iPhone 6S & 6S Plus Release Date, Specs & Price: Production Underway? Front Panel Revealed in New Leak! [Rumors]

A new leak that involves Apple's next iPhone iteration has recently emerged. A new set of images presumably taken from Apple's production site was sent to Nowhereelse by an "informant" who claims that components of gold and silver variants of the iPhone 6S are now being produced.

One image showed the front panel of the alleged new iPhone. Noticeably, the piece isn't all that different from that of iPhone 6. Mac Rumors explains that this is because being an "S" version only, there won't be no drastic changes in the design front.

The site adds that previous leaks of the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus also show that the sheaths of the current flagship and the one in production are pretty much the same. But users can also expect at least subtle improvements. The new iPhones may even be using a more durable material.

According to the source of the image, the front panels for the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus feel a lot smoother compared to the latest iPhone units around. This led media outlets to believe that Apple may be using a different type of aluminum or a completely different material.

All the same, Apple Insider says that the informant's claims and the predictions of acclaimed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who reported that the iPhone 6S and its bigger counterpart will utilize the 7000 Series aluminum, which the Apple Watch Sport has.

Unfortunately, the source of the images failed to mention if Apple is using sapphire or alkali-aluminosilicate glass for these front panels, which is why there still linger the question regarding the long-rumored inclusion of the Force Touch feature to the new phones.

Force Touch was first seen and was especially developed by the tech giant initially for the Apple Watch, which designates different functions in respond to the pressure of the user's touch on the wearable's screen. This feature is said to be seen in the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus next.

According to Techno Buffalo, the latest smartphones from Apple are expected to equip an A9 processor, which is reportedly being manufactured by TSMC and Apple's rival, Samsung, as previously reported by Books N Review. It is said to come with 2GB RAM and 32GB as the base storage option.

Users are also expecting camera tweaks and boosts, possibly an improved 12-megapixel rear shooter. There should also be an enhanced Touch ID. The iPhones 6S and 6S Plus are expected to dazzle the tech world in September.
